Glen Nevis

Our campsite has a fantastic position in the heart of Glen Nevis with a great selection of nearby walks.

Ben Nevis, the River Nevis, Woodland Walks, Steall falls, Highland Wildlife, Mountain Streams, historic sites - all available from your tent.

Climbing Ben Nevis

We are located at the foot of Ben Nevis and are a short walk from the 'tourist path' to the summit. It's a great climb and the views from the top on a clear day are amazing.

However, it's very important that you follow the safety information in the leaflet below and we recommend that you visit the nearby Glen Nevis Visitor Centre for more information on current climbing conditions before you set off.

Testimonials

" Wonderful campsite! It is very clean and spacious with great facilities. My 9 year old daughter and I stayed for 2 nights. We had toilets and showers next to us, which were very clean, and a scullery to wash our dishes. The shop is very handy too…..and the scenery is absolutely beautiful.. The staff were really friendly. My daughter loved the kids play area. We had a fantastic stay and we will definitely stay here again in the future"

CampManager - July 2023

"Glen Nevis Campsite is a spacious campsite situated alongside the mighty Ben Nevis. I found ample amount of options to locate my tent along with plenty of clean facilities. Staff at check in, the store and the cafe were friendly. I can highly recommend the Bacon & Egg breakfast rolls. Would recommend to anyone wishing to spend some time camping next to this incredible natural landmark”

Additional Details and FAQs

Children's Play Areas

The childrens’ Play park is provided in the camping and touring park and further open spaces are provided near the self-catering park.

Midges

Midges can be a pest in the mornings and evenings of the summer months. Our shop sells a range of candles, skin solutions and head nets that help if you find them a nuisance.

Caravan & Camping Club

We are recommended by the Caravan & Camping Club, but are not affiliated with them so do not offer reduced rates for members.

Bike Storage

We do not currently have a secure shed or storage space for storing bikes although there are plenty of trees, fences etc that you can chain them to.

Camp Fires & BBQs

Open fires are not permitted on the park. We do allow small enclosed fires such as chimineas/braziers provide you can find a spot that is at least 5 metres away from any other tents.

BBQs are permitted and our park benches have a heat proof mat for disposable BBQs.

Outlets to charge phones or devices

Suitable for phones, ipads, or kindles, we have free to use chargeable mobile phone lockers at the Deer Park Laundry block. Each locker can charge up to 3 x devices. Super simple to use lockers - you simply set your own 4 digit code to lock the unit whilst your device is charging. There is a 3pin plug and 2 USB ports.

Ticks

Ticks live in many different outdoor environments such as woodland, moorland and grassy areas. You may therefore get a tick bite if you take part in activities such as hiking, cycling or camping.

Wearing clothing that covers your skin, including tucking trousers into socks, makes it more difficult for ticks to access a suitable place to bite. Use good insect repellent and consider wearing light coloured clothing so that you can easily spot ticks and brush them off. After spending time outside, check yourself, your clothing, your pets and others for ticks. Remove the  attached tick as soon as you find it using tick removal tweezers

Fishing

Our Highland Estate has the fishing rights for the river Nevis and you can buy fishing (catch and release) permits for 1 day (£15), 3 days (£35) or 6 days (£60). The season runs from 15th April to the 30th September. Enquire at our reception for more details and to buy a permit.

Scullery

We have scullery facilities located on the campsite for the washing of campers pots and pans. Campers need to bring their own cooking gear with them.

Facilities

Washrooms with toilets, showers and fixed hairdryers. Accessible wet rooms with radar key access. Including chair for shower, hand rails, emergency cords.

Laundry rooms with washing machines, tumble driers and iron & Ironing board. There are powder and softener dispensers - 20p. The washing machines take 3 x £1 coins and the tumble driers take 20p, 50p and £1 coins. Each 20p gives you 8 minutes of drying time and there are several different heat settings.

Glen Nevis Estate

Guests are welcome to explore all 1000 acres of the Glen Nevis Estate during their stay!

Natural 'wild' areas have been created in the park to provide a habitat for our native flora and fauna, with pathways and picnic areas so guests can enjoy these areas at their leisure.

Walking in Glen Nevis

For the energetic, the footpath up Ben Nevis (highest mountain in the UK) starts from Glen Nevis. The West Highland Way also passes through Glen Nevis at the end of a 95 mile walk from Glasgow.

Steall Gorge is a fabulous feature of the Glen and provides a spectacular walk through to the higher Steall Waterfalls.

The Lower Falls is easily accessed by foot and is a favourite point in the Glen for photographs. There are also gentler riverside walks and numerous quiet forest walks within the Glen. Reception staff will be happy to suggest a walk for you.
